It is truly more blessed to give then to receive!
This is just the beginning of plans to become a ministry in helping the poor & needy through paintings, & a series of work painting Jesus. Inspired by God to paint Jesus & dedicate the painting & this Christmas show back to God while dedicating my life to the mission in Matthew 26:31-40
I wrote this poem in response to this painting & what Jesus was saying in these verses. Come to future shows, there will be another one coming up at Easter time & hear more of the stories behind the work.
Jesus ‘Friend to the Least of these’
How much do you love me
Would you recognize me if you saw me
I am here.. walking among you
I am not what you expect to find
Sitting on a high horse.. arrogant and proud
The wealth and powers of this world..
You will not see me
If you think I am there
You will not find me
For I am with the broken sinner, misunderstood, the outcast, the weak and lonely, the small and desperate children..
Don’t you see me
I have told you where to find me
I am thirsty and hungry
I am starving to death
Can you see me, can you hear me cry?
I am a stranger, terribly alone, with nowhere to go..
Who will help me and take me from the cold
I am freezing to death
And even more so scared and lonely
Is there anyone in the world
Who loves me
Who does not judge me
For my appearance..
Will anyone get to know my heart..
That is filled with joy and mercy
Will you help me
Will you spare one of your sheets
To keep me warm
I have no clothes..
Are you moved by me
Do you care that I have so few
While you sleep in your warm house
Going about your comfortable life..
You think that you have created by yourself..
You said you loved me
Yet you deny me
I am sick and in prison..
Why haven't you come to visit me?
When will you see
When will you find me
I have told you where I am
You claim you care for me
But you wont come to me
All you had to do was love me.. feed my sheep..
And I would give you all things..
More than all your needs
Treasures that never fade.. eternal life, your greatest dreams
